Sea Shepherd Send-Off in Albany!

December, 2011: Sea Shepherd's recent restocking in WA gave us the opportunity to invite them to Albany again. Our swiftly-organised function was a tremendous success. Whale World again generously donated their venue and we were able to give the people of Albany the opportunity to meet the crew of the MY Steve Irwin before their latest (and hopefully last!) protest against whaling in Antarctic water, Operation Divine Wind.

Join Tim Winton and Help Save the WA Coastline!

June, 2011: Shallows author Tim Winton has recently spoken out about the impending marine parks allocation along the West Australian coastline.
Visit the Australian Marine Conservation Society here to send a letter to the federal government, asking them to designate more of the coastline as protected!

Cannes!

May, 2011: Our producer, Stephen Van Mil, is hard at work at the Cannes Film Festival with our new investment manager Jack Drewe. They have been meeting with producers, directors and investors, but still managed to take some time off to party! Stephen also made time to attend the Icon-distributed film The Beaver, starring one of our Icon co-producers: Mel Gibson himself!

EVENT: From Whaling to Whale Watching: The past, present and future of whales in Albany

Whale World was the perfect backdrop for the event held in November 2010. The Shallows Movie secured a brilliant event with immense historical significance:

It was the first time in history that the whale defending organisation SEA SHEPHERD,
and in particular it's Captain Paul Watson,
had visited Albany, one of Australia's former homes of whaling.

The event saw over 100 people travel out to the breath taking lookout on which Whale World sits, to listen to how Shallows the Movie and Sea Shepherd will be in close collaboration within the town of Albany WA, to make the biggest film ever produced in the region. Since this event Sea Shepherd had successfully cut short the annual Japanese whaling operation in the Antarctic with their campaign 'No Compromise'.

As a result of the Impian Films event 'From Whaling To Whale Watching', Sea Shepherd has decided to develop a new Sea Shepherd chapter in Albany itself - should you be interested in being a part of a proactive and compassionate cause please visit the Sea Shepherd website.

Impian Films Visits Whale World

In September, 2010, Stephen Van Mil and Cynthia Colli visited Whale World in Albany. Albany will be the setting for Shallows, and Whale World is built on the site of The Cheynes Beach Whaling Company, the last operating whaling station at Frenchman Bay, Albany.
